On Our Special Day

I didn't plan to fall in love with you,
Yet I've loved you from the start,
You've given everything to me,
Your life, your hand, your heart



You said you'd walk beside me,
And would love me come what may,
That you always would take care of me,
And be there for me, all the way.



You've always been my hero,
There isn't much that you can't do;
My knight in shining armor,
I can always depend on you,



Through the years, both good and bad,
Up and down, like a carnival ride;
Together we got through it all,
As we faced it, side by side.



And now, forty five years later,
You've made all my dreams come true,
It's no wonder, dearest Harold,
That I'm still so in love with you!



As we celebrate our special day,
I love you more now than before!
Happy Anniversary, sweetheart,
And may God grant us many more!
